Hello! and welcome back to the blog.
Last week I wrote about the cute pumpkin house I made from Elisa's Crochet. But after making it, something was missing, and I realised, I just couldn't have a little pumpkin house without a little witchy mouse.
So this week's blog contains the free pattern of my Witchy Mouse!
This is the smallest amigurumi I have made. To make her you will need a 2.5mm hook; purple DK (I used Paintbox cotton in Tea Rose); brown DK (I used Stylecraft Bellissima in Toasted Almond); some black DK (also Paintbox cotton) for the whiskers and nose; 5mm safety eyes and toy stuffing.

Abbreviations are as follows (I work in US terms): MR - magic ring; inc - increase; sc - single crochet; blo - back loops only; dec - decrease; slst - slip stitch
Body, in purple
1- MR, sc 6 (6)
2- inc x6 (12)
3- ‘inc, sc 1’ x6 (18)
4- blo, sc around (18)
5-6- through both loops again sc around (18)
7- ‘dec, sc 1’ x6 (12)
8-10 sc around (12)
11- dec x6 (6)
Fasten off, stuff but don’t close the hole
Arms, make 2
Start with brown
1- MR, sc 6 (6)
2- sc around (6) change to purple
3-6 (4 rounds) sc around (6)
Fasten off with a long tail and sew onto the side of the body at round 10.
Head, in brown
1- MR, sc 4 (4)
2- ‘sc, inc’ x2 (6)
3- ‘sc, inc’ x3 (9)
4- sc around (9)
5- ‘sc 2, inc’ x3 (12)
6- ‘sc, inc’ x6 (18)
7- sc around, add the eyes (5mm) between round 6 and 7 and stuff the head at this point
8- ‘sc, dec’ x6 (12)
9- dec x6 (6), fasten off, leave and end and weave it through the remaining loops and pull to close the hole, sew in ends.
Ears, make 2, in brown
1- MR, sc 4 (4)
2- inc x4 (8), slst into the next st fasten off, leaving a tail to attach to the head.
Hat, in purple
Cone
1- MR, sc 4 (4)
2- ‘sc, inc’ x2 (6)
3- ‘sc, inc’ x3 (9)
4- sc around (9)
5- ‘sc 2, inc’ x3 (12)
6- sc around (12)
7- ‘sc 3, inc’ x3 (15)
Fasten off
Base
1- MR, sc 6 (6)
2- inc x6 (12)
3- ‘sc, inc’ x6 (18)
4- ‘sc 2, inc’ x6 (24)
5- ‘sc 3, inc’ x6 (30)
6- ‘sc 4, inc’ x6 (36)
Fasten off and stuff the cone. Sew it onto the base in a central position.
Attach it to the head.
Finally add the whiskers by pulling a small length of yarn through the cheek area, knot it and trim to size, I did this twice on each side, then embroider the nose.
And there she is! (She probably has to take the hat off to go inside, but we won't worry about the technicalities...)
I hope you enjoy making her, either for your pumpkin house, or even just because. Everyone needs a little magic mouse in their life, especially at this time of year!
